Lauren Bales holds a BA in music (2016) from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, where she studied both jazz and classical music, performed with both jazz and classical folk, and was invited to join the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society. She is a proud member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and currently serves as board president of its Aurora chapter.

Any kind of lessons from Ms. Lauren comes with a hearty helping of music theory and history because understanding the concepts and context of previous awesome sound prepares our paths to more awesome sound — which is not only super fun for individuals but also has the mighty power to link cultures and generations in profound, earth-shaking ways. Music is truly a gateway to connected humanity.

Previously, she earned a BS in sociology (2008) from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and an AS in behavioral science (2007) from Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

After spending time in various industries and teaching lessons on the side, Ms. Lauren realized that teaching music is her very favorite thing, so she immersed herself in a course of study to prepare to teach full-time. She has been teaching music in Colorado since 2012.
